This is a classic for real Guerlain fans. The perfume was created by Jean-Paul Guerlain in 1989. Sensual, sophisticated, woodsy fragrance, suitable for romantic dates, as well as for daily use. The top notes are juicy and fresh: bergamot, lemon, ylang-ylang, peach, and green notes. The heart is blooming in opulent flowers: elegant jasmine, cold woodsy iris, luscious narcissus, violet, and delicate rose. The base is composed of sandalwood, vanilla, Tonka bean, amber, and musk.
SAMSARA was the first seriously ‘woody’ fragrance for women when it was released in 1989.
Inspired by India, SAMSARA opens with dominant, sweet jasmine, warmed by sunny ylang-ylang and anchored by the warmth of sandalwood. Its signature ‘trail’ is expertly balanced tonka, vanilla & gentle iris.
Recently re-launched, its new bottle is adorned with a historic Bee icon. Designed in 1853 by Pierre-François-Pascal Guerlain, for Empress Eugénie, wife of Napoléon III, that Bee became the symbol of the empire & now serves as the emblem of Maison Guerlain.
